Helping Hands - Let's Dream Together

Our second night with the Young Travelers Girls was a lot a fun. We are starting to get to know the girls and they are getting comfortable with us. This Monday the weather prevented us from using the horses to illustrate Responsibility, so we stayed inside and started working on dream boards. We are cutting pictures out of magazines and making a collage of things that we are interested in and what we might like our future to look like. We also started our belts by learning to cut and trim leather. Chris made her famous sausage and biscuits and scrambled eggs for dinner.
Our discussion about responsibility turned into a discussion about forgiveness. Wow, it was awesome! What a great group of girls.

First Week-Young Travelers Girls

Monday we started our first girls mentoring group at the ranch. We have 6 girls signed up for this class. Heidi was sick with the flu, hopefully she will be better by next week. We had a great time with them Monday and already know we are going to need Chris's talking stick during discussion time!! They are very talkative. This is good, and they all seem to get along. They all took the trail ride around the property and were introduced to the seven decisions that we will be talking about in the book, "The Young Travelers Gift", by Andy Andrews. The girls took a vote and decided against making purses and decided to make belts like the boys did. Chris made dinner, guess what?? SLOPPY JOES AND CHEESY POTATOES! Chris volunteered to make sure we have dinner, and I heard next week she plans to make gravy and biscuits. Bill, Paint, and CeCe teamed up, then Dawn, Skeeter, and Ashley, then Sharon, Twiggy and Alyssa, then Jonathan, Chelsea, and Oreo, then
Larry,Hilbilly, and Crystal. I didn't get there until late, so I don't have any pictures, but we will be doing more with horses next week when we discuss, responsibility. I'll get pictures then.
