Charity Benefit

Wow! What fun we had at the benefit! Chip and his musicians entertained us with lots of good music. Many thanks to What a Band, What a Band, SUN 209, and The Pounders. Thanks to Chip for putting it all together! We love you Chip!! The kids had a great time being "jail birds". Thanks to Lizzy for making that happen!! Johnny B. brought two really nice "Lazy B's Ranch/What A Band" t-shirts to auction off and which helped raised funds. Mark and Donna brought a "great piece of art" to auction off, and "Queen Janine" won the auction and graciously donated it to the Lazy B's! Congratulations to Dale Williams for receiving the first "Volunteer of the Year Award". We love you Dale! Jan opened the event with scripture about how much God loves us and these kids that we work with. Her beautiful prayer set the atmosphere in the place. Lynn talked about purpose and destiny, which a few people commented later about how she spoke eloquently. That's why I chose her to speak. I could go on and on about how the event touched people, but I am going to let you all do the talking. Please comment so we all know your thoughts.

To all the friends and family of the Lazy B's, we THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. We could not do any of this without your support!!!

Much love and prayers,
Bonny & Bill

Volunteer Opportunities

There are two volunteer opportunities that I would like to pass along to the family and friends of the Lazy B's Ranch.

Equestrian Outreach center is looking for volunteers to help with a program that is helping a group of Jackson teens. This would be on Tues. from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. and will run for 10 weeks. The objectives are: building self-esteem, increasing social skills, learning to make good choices, tutoring in Math and English, learning about actions vs. consequences, and more. If you can help in this area, please contact Leslie Gove at 517-812-6664. Leslie has been a great friend to the ranch and we believe her programs are worth supporting.

Partnership Park Downtown Neighborhood Association is looking for volunteers in their after school program. This program is to aide children ages 6-15 in academic improvement as well as to provide a fun and supportive place for them to gain social skills, create lasting friendships and receive the skills necessary to success in the future. The program is offered two times a week from 4:00p.m.-6:00 p.m. Catholic Charities is heading this program. They are also members of the Juvenile Justice Coalition which we are part of. If you can help in this area, please contact Ben Keaster at 517-784-1361.

Lazy B Work Day October 11

Hello everyone, I just added a link to the photos from this weekend's activity at the ranch. A great group of kids, excellent volunteers, and really nice weather (especially for October!). We got some work done and had some fun, too.

Kids Explosion

After the first week at Kids Explosion, we are confident we will have another successful session. We were excited to see the same kids returning and also some new faces. We are still in need of volunteers to help facilitate the program. Currently, we have 7 sites that are up and running! Isn't that amazing!! I am sure Nathan Norman is thrilled to hear that what he started is still happening.

It is never too late to get involved. Please call Wendy Wight if you are interested in this Jackson area city ministry. 517-740-8444
